Interceptor Pro Stedicam

The Interceptor Steadicam is made mechanically to fulfill the art of cinematography. It increases the elegance of moving shots and increases the quality of your cinematography significantly. The Interceptor incorporates advanced engineering and precision machining making it the most sophisticated system in its price range.
The mechanical system of the vest and articulating arm alleviates the physical stress that's otherwise placed upon you by manhandling a stabilizer on your own. If you've ever used a stabilizer, it's a great tool to have for walking shots, but even after a short time it becomes very tiring. The fatigue that's induced by carefully holding a stabilizer and camera at arm's length for extended periods will eventually impact your shooting in a negative way; the more tired you become, the more attention you devote to that feeling of physical stress. A vest and arm system removes that problem, enabling you to simply "wear the camera" and go all day long.

Articulating Arm
The articulating arm incorporates sophisticated engineering and precision machining to make it lightweight and strong. The arm is made of aluminium and consists of two segments connected together with a pivoting hinge, two joint hinges, 24 stainless steel bearings, high tension springs, an Arm Vest Connector Socket, and a Gimbal connector. Each arm segment is a parallelogram with a visual indicator and a spring-shock-absorption-system enclosed inside.
Indicator Magic Arm's combined camera and sled carrying capacity ranges from 8 to 15 pounds. The articulated arm essentially acts as a shock absorber for the camera sled. The indicator in the arm gives the idea of the point where the tension spring of the arm is to be tightened. It is the most important additional feature in this arm.
When the cameraman moves the base of the arm moves as well. But the spring system in the rest of the arm responds to the weight of the sled. Instead of a sharp jolt the camera shifts its position smoothly. Even when the body of the cameraman jerks the camera glides. The Support Arm can be setup and configured on either side so a left-handed or a right-handed operator can use it smoothly.
Vest
The padded support vest has three attachment points for its suspension system plus a wide lower 2 inch cushioned belt secured by Velcro. The vest has five buckles, is cushioned 2 inches and has a standard arm connector. For added strength and durability the arm connectors are made of aluminum. The articulating arm is attached right to its socket so you're not stuck with the support system moving around when you're taking a break between shots.
Sled & Gimbal
Hand-held shots suffer from a distinct jerkiness. The undesired shock of walking consist of two elements: quick movement of the entire camera by a small amount and rotation of the camera itself (tilt, pan, and roll). Successful isolation will significantly reduce the size of both types of movement.
Gimbal Specifications

The camera is mounted on one end of the sled and the battery and monitor are mounted to the other end. The weight of the camera, battery and monitor can be balanced to keep them at a greater distance from the Gimbal. The added distance (and weight) means that the camera moves much faster when rotated at the Gimbal just like the outer edge of a record moves much faster than the inner edge at the spindle. Since the camera moves faster at the end of the post than it would if mounted at the Gimbal it takes more effort to rotate the camera.
Universal Camera Base Plate/Quick Release Clamp
The Camera Base plate has both 1/4" and 3/8" mounting slots to accommodate a variety of camera bases. You can slide your camera on both the horizontal and vertical axis by means of thumbscrews and a movable camera base plate.
Tripod Stand & Balancing/Docking Bracket
This system comes with Tripod Stand & Docking Bracket for hanging the arm, vest, and stabilizer.
